When a company advertises about themselves, their products or services, values, benefits or more importantly, about how good they are, are you more likely to believe what they say or believe a customer who has first-hand experience with the company or the product?
The customer of course! But having said that, people believe what they want to believe. A rational person will consider the first-hand experience and evidence to believe and fully accept the company or the product.
When was the last time a friend told you about an interesting restaurant they went to? Where the food was outstanding and they loved the variety and the ambience, and the price was value for money. You would probably make a mental note to check out that place. But would you have given it much thought if you just saw an ad about that restaurant? Probably… or maybe not.
Now, when it comes to corporate organisations and their products and services like bank rates, telecommunications services or even corporate cleaning services, many would consider reviews and recognitions that have been accorded to these corporations for some assurance before making the decision to procure their products or services. Recognitions and awards are not easily earned and a good testament of the customer service, and the product or service quality. In fact, you can tell a lot from the recognition that a company receives especially if it is coming from a discerning customer.
After all, “the wise learn from the experience of others.”
