It has now been over a year since the Covid-19 pandemic took the world by storm in late 2019. At the time of writing, there are about 219 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 globally and we do not foresee the numbers slowing down. Because of this, SOPs and social distancing practices have become a permanent fixture in our lives.
The Cleaning and Disinfecting Warriors with Masks
During this trying time, maclean, as an industrial professional cleaning company with proven track records, stands united with all our stakeholders. When the pandemic broke out, we took on the role of “Cleaning and Disinfecting Warriors with Masks”, tirelessly helping our clients and the public maintain a Covid-19-free environment. We donned our uniforms proudly while fearlessly keeping your facilities clean and safe with our technical expertise in dealing with viruses such as SARS, H1N1, Swine Flu and of course, Covid-19.
As we continue to make adjustments to our way of lives, we also see the emergence of new cleaning methods for different facilities and public spaces. Malaysia’s Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) and Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) often provide effective guidelines on cleaning and disinfection protocols for maintaining hygienically clean facilities, thus leading to workplaces that are free from environmental, health and safety hazards.
Keeping Your Workplace Safe
A very important aspect of maintaining a safe workplace is to understand some of the industry’s best practices in the cleaning and disinfecting process. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that it is important that surfaces are first cleaned using soap and water before using disinfectant, to reduce the number of germs, dirt and impurities.
Tests conducted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have shown that cleaning with water and microfiber materials removes up to 98% of bacteria and 93% of viruses from surfaces. Once cleaning has been thoroughly done, the area is now ready for surface disinfection, a process that uses chemicals to kill 99.999% of germs. This will then be followed by aerial disinfection to penetrate hard-to-reach places.
Our Commitment
With over 40 years of experience in the cleaning business, maclean continues to pursue new knowledge, skill sets, technologies and equipment to better serve our clients. Moreover, our people are at the center of our operations – maclean’s cleaning crew is fully trained to meet local KKM and international standards of the CDC, EPA and NEA. All staff from various departments are provided with consistent training in order for us to build a highly competent workforce to support and advise our clients effectively.
